Trans Sierra Norte - Enduro MTB Event

WildTribe’s South America partners Trail Quest are upping the ante for passionate mountain bike riders around the world by launching their very own 3 day enduro event in Mexico. Here’s our friend Alvaro to tell you more…

Welcome to the first edition Trans Sierra Norte Enduro race. The day of the dead race. This project is the result of a dream and passion for bike riding in which we have dedicated part of our lives in order to share fun experiences full of adrenaline in the best trails that the North Sierra of Oaxaca has to offer, enjoying the lifestyle with great people and awesome friends.

Our main goal with this race is to help to promote the eco tourism, culture and traditions that hold together these villages in order to allow us to keep them unique and create an economic and environmental impact to protect the indigenous tribes of the area.

The Race

TransSierra Norte is a 3-day backcountry race that will prove the fitness, riding and navigation skills of every single rider through the North Sierra of Oaxaca, over long and steep trails with more than 1000 m of elevation gain between 3 and 7 km. Oaxaca is very unique place to ride bikes surrounded by hundreds of trails and more waiting to be discovered. With more than 40 km on stages with different kind of terrain and vegetation, this event promises to wrap on a lifetime bike adventure with the most authentic culture and traditions that this native area has to offer.

Trans Sierra Norte is an event promoted by MTB-Enduro that will challenge riders on a 3-day backcountry race with special timed stages and non-timed transitions over millennial trails used in the past by native communities to communicate with each other and exchange goods along the Sierra Norte of Oaxaca, México.
